SACRAMENTO - This summer football fans can purchase a ticket to demonstrate their support for the Sacramento Mountain Lions while also lending support for a great local cause – the Powerhouse Science Center.

The Mountain Lions have chosen the Discovery Museum Science & Space Center, the future home of the Powerhouse Science Center, to be the Featured Charity for their season opener on Saturday evening, Sept. 17. The Mountain Lions face the Las Vegas Locomotives at Hornet Stadium (7:30 p.m.) in what could be the first prime time, nationally televised United Football League game.

The Mountain Lions have initiated a 50/50 ticket fundraising program. For every ticket purchased through the Discovery Museum website (see details below), 50 percent of the cost will go toward funding the Powerhouse Science Center. Tickets cost $20 and $15.
