SACRAMENTO - A car and Light Rail train collided Friday morning, creating a messy commute for public transportation passengers and drivers in the area.

The incident was reported just before 8 a.m. at North 12th Street and Sproule Ave.

Officer Doug Morse of the Sacramento Police Dept. said a light pole was knocked down in the collision, but there didn't appear to be any injuries to the car driver or anyone on the train.

A bus service was initiated by Regional Transit to shuttle train passengers. RT announced there would be delays for some riders in the area while the bus service was put into place.
