Convoy of Hope offers some help to Sacramento homeless
News

SACRAMENTO, CA - The Convoy of Hope is expected to help thousands of Sacramento Saturday as they provide $1 million in goods and services.

Hundreds were lining up outside of Cal Expo Friday night in order to be first in line for Saturday's event. However, according to the Convoy of Hope spokesperson Andrew Bradley, Cal Expo does not want people camping out on the grounds and disbanded the line.

During a free dental clinic at Cal Expo a month or two ago, a fight broke out. Disbanding the line was Cal Expo's decision based on safety, not Convoy of Hope's Bradley said.

Gates for Convoy of Hope open at 10 a.m. The event offers 400,000 pounds of groceries, consultations with health professionals, dental services, kid's zone activities, haircuts, portraits, back-to-school supplies, bike repair, job fair, prayer time and spiritual guidance, live entertainment with free lunch and more.
