The City of West Sacramento, partnering with Rubicon Brewing Company, is excited to announce that construction has begun on the new brewery in West Sacramento. Located at 855 Stillwater Road, the new 16,380 square foot brewery will produce ten times more beer than Rubicon can currently produce at their popular downtown Sacramento location. Rubicon’s decision adds to a growing list of food companies moving into West Sacramento.
Rubicon Brewing Company is the oldest active brewery in the City of Sacramento, and they will continue to brew test batches at the 20th and Capitol pub location. Rubicon’s owner, Glynn Phillips, made the decision to expand his brewery side of the business due to a greater demand for his beer than he can accommodate. “The food and restaurant side of the business has been consistent while the amount of beer I can produce has maxed out at 2000 barrels,” commented Phillips. Rubicon hopes to have the new brewery up and running by the end of the year.
The City of West Sacramento is excited about Rubicon’s decision to locate the new brewery in West Sacramento. “This new facility will bring a boost to the West Sacramento economy, creating new jobs and opportunities for the people of West Sacramento. Rubicon is a local tradition, and we are proud to be a part of it,” commented Christopher Cabaldon, Mayor of West Sacramento.
