SACRAMENTO: May is officially "Bike Month" in the Sacramento region and several events are planned to help cyclists gear up.

On Tuesday, April 30th, cyclists can get free bike inspections and repairs courtesy of the Bike Doc at the Heron Elementary School Quad at 5151 Banfield in Natomas from 2 p.m. - 5 p.m. .

There will also be other events including the following snack stations set up to fuel bikers throghout the month:

April 30th

  • A.M. hours at West Capitol Ave.
  • Afternoon hours in East Sacramento at 48th St. and M St.

Wednesday May 1:

  • Fremont Park from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
  • Afternoon hours  I-80 Bike in South Natomas

Thursday May 2:

  • A.M. hours on the American River Bike Trail at William Pond
  • Afternoon hours on the American River Bike Trail at Negro Bar
  • Free Bike Repair/$5 helmets at H Allen Haight Elementary School in Natomas 2-6 pm

May 4th

  • Jane's Ride/Cemetary Tour at Old Sacramento Cemetary from 9 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
