Man attempts to sexually assault elderly Sacramento woman

SACRAMENTO, CA - Sacramento police are looking for a man who tried to sexually assault an elderly woman Thursday.

The 80-year-old victim was entering her apartment on 5 th Street and I Street around 2:10 p.m. when the suspect approached her from behind, Sgt. Norm Leong said.

The suspect forced his way into the victim's apartment and attempted to sexually assault her. Leong said the suspect fled the scene before completing the sexual assault.

After the suspect fled the victim was able to call for help.

The suspect is described as a black man 40 to 60 years old, about 6 feet tall with braided hair, Leong said. The suspect was wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans.

Police: Prolific midtown graffiti tagger busted

SACRAMENTO, CA - The Sacramento Police Department wants victims to know they have arrested a man suspected of tagging numerous structures with graffiti in midtown Sacramento over the past two years.

Thursday, officers took Nicholas Larson, 21, into custody on the 6000 block of 1st Avenue. A police search of the premises where Larson was located turned up graffiti tools, marijuana ready for sale and prescription pills, said Sgt. Norm Leong.

Larsen is suspected in more than 100 vandalisms of walls, signs, sidewalks and dumpsters, Leong said.

'Disrespectful' look' stabbing lands Sacramento man long sentence

SACRAMENTO, CA - A Sacramento man who fatally stabbed another man he claimed looked at his wife the wrong way is headed to prison for 26 years to life.

William Michael Todd was sentenced in Sacramento County Superior Court. In April, a Sacramento jury convicted Todd of first-degree murder with the use of a knife in the May 31, 2010, slaying of David Endres.

According to court records, Todd and Endres were standing outside a friend's apartment, drinking beer, when Todd took offense at how Endres looked at his wife. Without warning, Todd took out a knife and stabbed Endres twice, once in the abdomen and once in the heart.

Sacramento County District Attorney spokeswoman Shelly Orio said Todd immediately fled but was captured a few blocks away. DNA analysis of blood on his shirt matched Endres' blood DNA.

Sacramento juries convict two child molestors

SACRAMENTO, CA - The Sacramento County District Attorney's Office announced the convictions of two child molesters Thursday.

Alejandro Carrillo was convicted of molesting the 7, 9 and 11-year-old daughters of his girlfriend 10 years after the crimes.

Carrillo moved in with the woman and her daughters in 2001. He would watch the girls while his girlfriend was at work. She did not know Carrillo had a 1991 conviction for child molestation.

According to court testimony, for approximately one year, Carrillo sexually assaulted the girls separately and together, using force and threats, according to court testimony. One of the girls told her biological father.

Carrillo fled the Sacramento area when he learned he was under investigation, said district attorney spokeswoman Shelly Orio. Law enforcement located him in North Carolina in 2009.

Sacramento man sentenced for killing 2 dogs

SACRAMENTO, CA - A Sacramento National Guardsman has been sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to two felony counts of animal abuse.

Ramone Dupree King Jr. was accused of drowning a neighbor's chihuahua by putting it in a washing machine and turning the machine on. The dog had reportedly bit a child. That was in April 2010.

Several weeks later, King's girlfriend reported he kicked her Pomeranian to death after it urinated in his bedroom.

When first charged, King initially denied killing the chihuahua and claimed the Pomeranian's death was an accident, according to Shelly Orio, spokeswoman for the Sacramento County District Attorney's Office.

King enlisted in the California National Guard in 2006, said spokesman Major Jonathan Shiroma. King has not been deployed into combat.

King did not have a prior criminal record. He was sentenced to two years and eight months behind bars.

Elderly Sacramento woman sexually grabbed; police search for suspect

SACRAMENTO, CA - Sacramento police need help to find a man suspected of sexually grabbing an elderly woman in April.

The 83-year-old woman was near 22 nd and R Street around 2 p.m. when a man grabbed her from behind, Sgt. Norm Leong said.

Leong said the man then began to thrust his groin area at the woman multiple times and then grabbed her butt.

The suspect is described as a black man, 50 to 60 years old, 6 feet tall, weighing about 160 pounds. The suspect had a shaved head and wore a gray and blue hooded jacket with blue jeans.

Police seek Sacramento jewelry store ring thief

SACRAMENTO, CA - A man suspected of stealing rings on two occasions from local stores is being sought by the Sacramento Police Department.

The first theft took place at Macy's department store on K Street on June 28 at 11:45 a.m.. Police spokeswoman Officer Laura Peck said the thief asked to see a particular ring at the men's jewelry counter, put the ring on his finger and ran out of the store without being caught.

The next day, June 29, the same man is suspected of going into a jewelry store in the Arden Fair Mall on the 1600 block of Arden Way at 2 p.m. and stealing a woman's ring, Peck said. The man evaded capture despite being chased by a store employee.

The man is described as black, 28 to 32 years old, 6 feet 1 inches tall and weighing 175 pounds. He has short black hair. Witnesses described him as having a piercing on the right side of his lower lip and an unknown tattoo on the top of one of his hands.
