SACRAMENTO, CA - A former Sacramento police officer was sentenced to five years in state prison with suspended execution Friday for falsifying police reports.

Sacramento Superior Court Judge Patrick Marlette ordered Brandon Mullock, 28, to serve formal felony probation with one year in county jail.

Mullock's actions forced the Sacramento County District Attorney's Offices to dismiss 79 cases, most of them DUI arrests. There had been convictions in 73 of the cases, said D.A. spokesperson Shelly Orio, and they were set aside.

Mullock previously pleaded no contest to four felony charges: three counts of filing false police reports and one count of perjury as part of a plea deal.

The attack took place on March 26 at about 11 a.m. as the woman ran between Watt and Howe avenues, said sheriff's Sgt. Jason Ramos. She was grabbed from behind by a man and forced to the ground. She told deputies the man tried to further assault her but her screaming for help sent him fleeing.

The assailant was described as white, in his late 20s to early 30s. He was between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet tall with a slim build. He had a scruffy, blond beard and a moustache.

At the time of the attack he wore a long-sleeved, olive green t-shirt, and black and gray pants. He had on a red baseball cap and sunglasses.

The woman reported he rode away on black mountain bike with white detailing.
