UPDATE: West Sacramento woman was not kidnapped, police say | Crime
WEST SACRAMENTO, CA - A woman who appeared to have been kidnapped was found safe Friday evening in West Sacramento.
Witnesses told officers a heavy-set young Hispanic woman, who appeared to be between the ages of 16 and 20, was grabbed from the 700 block of Solano Street by a man and put into the car just around 3:42 p.m., West Sacramento police Sgt. Jason Winger said.
Police got a detailed vehicle description and started a search for the woman.
Around 6:10 p.m., police found the car on the 2000 block of Manzanita Way in West Sacramento and the woman.
Winger said police determined the woman and the man are dating and will investigate the case as a possible domestic violence incident.
However, officers have not determined if a crime had actually occurred and continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
