Community Against Sexual Harm (CASH) will be holding an evening benefit this Thursday, May 16, from 5:30-8 p.m. at the Sierra 2 Center, Curtis Halll, 2791 24th Street in Sacramento.  “An Evening in May, A Cause For CASH” is sponsored by Sutter Health, Sierra Health Foundation, Kaiser Permanente, and UC Davis. SACRAMENTO, CA - An arrest has been made in a Sunday early morning crash in which a passenger died.

Christopher Lee Daniels, 29, of Sacramento, was ejected when the car in he was in drifted off of Northgate Boulevard south of West Stadium Lane and ran into a tree, splitting in half, said Officer Lizz Dutton with the California Highway Patrol. Daniels was ejected from the 2010 black Chevrolet Camaro. First responders pronounced him dead at the scene.

Dutton said the man behind the wheel, Sir Von Church, 33, of Fairfield, suffered minor injuries and was treated at an area hospital. Upon Church's release, Dutton said he was arrested on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter, felony driving under the influence, and driving on a suspended driver's license. Church was booked into Sacramento County Jail.

SACRAMENTO, CA - Police search for a man who robbed pay day loans business in North Sacramento Friday morning.

The man entered the Advance America on the 1500 block of West El Camino around 10:30 a.m. and threatened the clerk with a handgun, the Sacramento Police Department said.

The suspect ordered the victim to give him money and then demanded to be let into the safe. He then stole money in the safe and then ran away from the scene.

Police said the man was captured on surveillance video at the business. He is described as a black man in his 20s, 5'8" tall, weighing 140 to 150 pounds, with a thin mustache. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, blue jeans, white athletic shoes and a black ball cap with a possible Adidas logo.
