Happy (almost) one year anniversary to the JOBS ACT of 2012!  Signed into law by President Obama on April 5, 2012, this legislation is intended to encourage funding of U.S. startups by easing various securities regulations. There are a number of provisions but the hot topic this week is equity crowdfunding.  The SEC has still not completed the rule-making on this and most experts think it will be 2014 before startups can actually take advantage of equity crowdfunding. Learn about the early history of Sacramento by taking a tour of the cemetery on April 27 at 10:00 am. You’ll hear about the city’s pioneer leaders, as well as interesting facts, such as the meaning of “Urbs Indomita” on the Sacramento City seal.

The cemetery is located at 1000 Broadway, Sacramento. Free parking is available in the lot at 10th & Broadway, across the street from the 10th Street entrance. Tours are free; however, donations are appreciated and benefit cemetery preservation.

TELL US - Are you disappointed in local news coverage?

The Associated Press reported on a new study from the Pew Research Center's Project for Excellence in Journalism that states that a third of consumers are disappointed in news coverage.

In short, the AP article mentioned that many of the consumers said there were fewer or less complete stories and that local news has become increasingly focused on weather, sports and traffic.
