It is almost crazy to think that you can gain inspiration and hope from a clean car. But we, the crazies at 3fold & Franklin Pictures, were so incredibly dazzled and inspired at the sight of our cars being washed by the Finishing Touch crew on Wednesday – it prompted us to want to share it with you.

Here is some back story: Cottage Housing Inc., a homeless shelter in Sacramento that provides care for those without a roof, brought a few of its residents together a couple of year ago to brainstorm. CHI recognizes that just because someone spent time in prison, is dealing with addiction and recovery, and doesn’t own a 2 bedroom/2.5 bathroom home, that doesn’t mean they don’t have skills. Sacramento Area Feed My Starving Children MobilePack Moving to William Jessup University for 2012

Event to Pack 500,000 Meals for Malnourished Children

Will Be Held at Nov. 13-17 in Rocklin

ROCKLIN – Organizers of the 3rd annual Sacramento area Feed My Starving Children MobilePack™ announced today that the event this year will be held at William Jessup University in Rocklin, with a goal to pack more than 500,000 meals for malnourished children around the world.

The event, hosted in 2010 and 2011 at Valley Springs Presbyterian Church in Roseville, will be held from Nov. 13 to Nov. 17.

“We are excited to partner with William Jessup University, where we will have the opportunity to grow this event and engage more community partners,” said Kris Glass, Event Coordinator.

Have Fun Around Downtown/Midtown for Charity

Join the Ronald McDonald House Charities and hundreds of supporters by leisurely strolling through beautiful downtown and midtown Sacramento and savoring samples from 19 restaurants at the 3rd Annual Red Shoe Crawl on Sunday, June 24th 2012!

This even keeps on growing and the number of participating restaurants, which began at 10, is now 1 away from 20 restaurants.

APWA Sacramento honors 2012 Managers of the Year

Sacramento, CA – At a May 17 annual awards dinner, the American Public Works Association (APWA) Sacramento Chapter recognized five outstanding individuals as the best management professionals in public works for 2012. Award recipients were recognized for their commitment and contributions to innovation and technology, agency and customer service, leadership and vision. The awards dinner kicked off National Public Works Week, which takes place May 20-26.

"We had an outstanding pool of award recipients this year," said Diane Nakano, president of APWA Sacramento.

Railroad Museum Gets in the Jazzy Spirit Memorial Day Weekend!

Coinciding with the 39th Annual Sacramento Music Festival happening over Memorial Day weekend in Old Sacramento, the California State Railroad Museum will offer jazz musicians performing inside the Museum, aboard popular weekend excursion train rides and even complimentary admission to event badge holders. With several music venues located in close proximity to the Railroad Museum and a special free Children’s Stage and activity area just outside the Museum in the “1849 Scene,” a visit to the Railroad Museum extends the weekend enjoyment for all ages.

Inside the Museum, visitors will be treated to live entertainment in the Roundhouse performed by various banjo musicians all four days as follows: Friday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday through Monday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.  In addition, live musical performances will be available in the Museum Theater on Saturday and Sunday at 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.
